The Pull up is a compound exercise somewhat exclusively used for the upper-body. It entails your arms and back pulling up while body while your abs and core prevent your lower back from arching. By gripping the bar with your palms facing inwards, you can emphasize your arms. When you do this, they become chin-ups which are useful for building bigger stronger biceps.
