The dating process can be frustrating and depressing, especially if you have been looking for a special someone for a long time without any luck. You might start doubting and second-guessing your self-worth. It leads to worry and anxiety that you will never find the true love you so much crave while dating prepares you for long term relationship and ultimately marriage, it is crucial that you regularly take stock of your emotional wellbeing to know how you are feeling.

Why You Shouldn’t beat yourself up!

Some people attach their self-esteem and sense of self on whether or not they are in a relationship or if they have people showing interest in them. Such people view failed dates as a result of their faults as opposed to looking at the bigger picture that maybe they were never a good match in the first place. Since we attract what we feel, you will always find people who will continuously feed your self-perception. If your relationships do go as you hope for, you should not beat yourself up. Here is why:

Lack of interest from someone does not mean that you are not lovable.
You can think that the back and forth texting, movie date and all those cocktails implied that your crush wanted to see you again.it is however a week already and you have not heard anything from them. Such kind of ghosting can affect how you see and value yourself. When someone goes mute without warning, it can give you the impression that you are not lovable or likeable. It can mess up your self-esteem and how you perceive yourself. However, if this happens to you, you should be more objective and look at the issue as a case sheer incompatibility instead of attributing the failure to yourself, and things you might have done wrong. It doesn’t have to be. Sometimes people don’t match.
