The saying that men are from Mars, and women are from Venus comes from the fundamental differences between men and women. These differences are socialized to us from birth, and we assume some gender roles, both emotionally, mentally, and physically.
That makes it even harder for us to understand each other because we are socialized differently. Women are socialized to be caregivers and homemakers. Men are socialized to be providers and protectors.
From that point of view, it feels like we are living in the same place but from different planets. Even in the modern world where girl power is strong, there is gender-based socialization from birth. Think about it. Girls are given dolls and kitchen toys while boys are given cars and superhero figures.
Wow, that well said, Annabella. We have talked about how women punish men in some of the videos on our channel. We discover that women portray indirect forms of aggression as compared to guys.
When a guy is angry, he will act it out or make it known. On the other hand, a woman will hold it in and punish you indirectly. Sometimes you might never even realize that you are being punished.
