For most of us, dating and exercise do not go together. These two things do not just go together. Working out is something we do in the gym, either by ourselves or with a group of classmates. Dates, on the other hand, involve sitting in a restaurant eating, watching a movie or on rare occasions taking a long walk along a beach.

Aside from these cliché’ date set up options, there are a ton of other ways to enjoy a pleasant and active time with your partner if you stay open-minded. Well, if you feel you are too old for fun and dynamic stuff like batting cages or mini golf, here is another option that might do it for you; going on an exercise date. How pleasant does that sound? So, assuming you are as curious as I am, how do you plan or get ready for an exercise date? Here is how.

Look for an active partner.

Assuming you are single and are looking to find love with a fitness enthusiast, look in the right places to avoid frustration. An excellent place to start is a gym. However, be careful to keep your interactions as natural as possible; gym pickups can be very awkward and uncomfortable when done wrong. You do not want to hit on a girl while you are all sweaty while puffing and buffing. You could instead join clubs or classes where you are likely to find people who share in your active interest. You could also try hanging out in busy places such as parks.
Online dating sites such as Tango wire or Fitness Singles that feature groups of dances, runners, cyclists, yogis, weightlifters and more could come in handy in offering you a platform to find the most suitable mate.

If you are not single, you could also recruit your girlfriend. Take turns at showing each other exercise move that each of you is proficient. For example, you could show your woman how to do sit-ups and press ups as she shows you some yoga places. As a result, you will be more involved in each other’s lives, increase your interest in the same things as well as learn new skills.
